Si2 Common Power Format Standard

In joining the LPC, members have agreed to an IP Policy that ensures that contributors, participants, and adopters all have mutually-assured safety from patent or royalty concerns.

To achieve this, members agree to provide reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing terms for all necessary patents in any standard developed by the LPC. A "safety"? period is provided before any standard is adopted by Si2 to allow participants to review any patents that may be adversely affected.

All versions of the CPF specification have gone through this process.
